What is the campaign “Mil Ciudades, Mil Vidas”?

In previous editions, this health blog alluded to the World Day of the Health 2010 that, in this occasion, will be centred on the topic “The urban development and the health”. In the frame of this celebration, which will develop next April 7, the world campaign has been thrown “Mil Ciudades, Mil Vidas”.

In the year 2009, the World Day of the Health took as a motto “to save lives, sure hospitals in the emergency situations”. The importance of this event was such, that the World Organization of the Health (WHO) included it in his balance of end of year standing out like one of twelve facts and more important achievements of last year, as will report already some weeks ago this blog.

For his part, this year the World Day of the Health will take the topic as a principal axis “The urban development and the health”. In this date numerous events and activities will be carried out everywhere of world to tackle the topic chosen in this opportunity: the urban development and his effect in the health of the human beings.

Although this event will be realized newly next Wednesday, the 7th of April, already a very interesting international campaign was thrown. So called “Mil Ciudades, Mil Vidas”, this one invites to open the public spaces, for example the parks, for the achievement of activities that promote the health, as he informed the web page of the WHO.

Between the different targets that there chases “Mil Ciudades, Mil Vidas”, one thinks about how to obtain thousand persons' histories that have realized initiative which results have shown impact in the health of his cities.

It is important to add that this campaign, which was thrown facing the achievement of the World Day of the Health 2010, has a big presence in Internet.
